Class Descriptions:
Diaper Dancing: Designed for infants (ages newborn to 2) to gain skills with a participating parent. Creative movement introduction through finger plays, props, and high movement dances. Different themes each week to keep infants and toddlers entertained.
Dancing Babies: This class is for children ages 2-3 who are ready to leave mom and begin dancing. The curriculum includes basic ballet, tap, and jazz moves while also doing some fun creative movement. Child does not have to be potty trained but parents have to stay in the building.
Ballet, Tap, Jazz: These 3 popular dance types are combined to make a well-rounded dancer. A typical class includes a ballet warm-up/barre work and floor work, and when dancers start to get tired of the tedious ballet work; the class moves to something fast paced and fun like tap and/or jazz. Ballet is the foundation of all dance related movement: Everything from ice skating and gymnastics, to cheerleading. Tap reinforces rhythm and students learn to count music as they use their tap shoes as an instrument. Jazz is a chance for dancers to shake and move!
Hip-Hop: A fun, high energy class similar to dance moves featured on High School Musical, Shake It Up, Step Up Movies and MTV. Dancers will learn popular line dances. This edgy style of dance is put to the newest music, so kids of all ages enjoy class.
Rising Starz: Our rising starz program is a precursor to our STARZ Company. Designed for students from 3rd-5th grade. Students learn steps in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Focus switches to technique in execution of the steps rather than creative movement and learning your body, which is the focus of younger classes.
STARZ Company: Our STARZ Company is for all dancers from 6th-12th grade. Our company focuses on Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical. Ballet is not a part of company because most of our students take an additional ballet class. They practice jazz technique each week including turns and leaps, and tap technique while also working on dances. Our company is involved in the community and usually participate in parades and other appearances. Company is a yearlong commitment and our company members must purchase a STARZ warm-up suit for $100.
