Michelle Larnard is a graduate of Michigan State University. She has a B.A. in Psychology as well as a Specialization in Dance. While attending MSU, Michelle was a member of the MSU Repertory Dance Company and jazz instructor for the Orchesis Dance Program. Michelle was a dancer and choreographer for many student dance concerts and choreographed a piece for the MSU Theater department’s open house. Michelle worked on West Side Story and was a Stage Manager for the dance production “A Drink of Water”.
After college graduation Michelle worked in social work for many years helping families in crisis. She also worked as a domestic adoption worker, creating forever families. While working in social work Michelle always taught dance part-time.
Michelle has been a dance instructor for 18 years. She has been an instructor with Starz Performing Arts for the past 5 years. She started out as the Company Director for Dance For Fun. Michelle is trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and modern. At Starz she teaches ballet, technique and choreographs dances for the Starz Competition Team. She recently started a Tap n’ Tumble class for younger dancers that she brings her 3 children to. Michelle is passionate about dance. She enjoys the chance to spark a love for dance in the young talent she gets to instruct weekly. “The most amazing gift you can give a child is inspiration, and I hope to inspire kids for a long time”.
